In a series of tweets Monday, President-elect Donald Trump renewed his attack on Meryl Streep, calling her “one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood” in response to her criticism of him at the Golden Globes on Sunday.

“Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn’t know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes,” Trump wrote, adding that Streep was “a Hillary flunky who lost big.”

"groveling" when he totally changed a 16 year old story that he had written in order to make me look bad. Just more very dishonest media!

The three-time Oscar winner, who received the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Globes, used her speech to decry Trump’s “instinct to humiliate.” Without naming him, Streep said she was horrified when Trump mimicked a disabled reporter during a campaign rally.

“It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter, someone he outranked in privilege, power, and the capacity to fight back,” Streep said. “It kind of broke my heart when I saw it. I still can’t get it out of my head because it wasn’t in a movie. It was real life.”

Trump denied that he had imitated the reporter. “For the 100th time, I never ‘mocked’ a disabled reporter (would never do that) but simply showed him ‘groveling’ when he totally changed a 16 year old story that he had written in order to make me look bad,” Trump tweeted. “Just more very dishonest media!”

Earlier, Trump called Streep a “Hillary lover” in an interview with the New York Times following the awards ceremony and said that, although he had not seen the show, he was not surprised he had come under attack from “liberal movie people.”

Streep has more Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations than any actor in history. Her criticisms of Trump at Sunday’s ceremony were among many comments aimed at the president-elect.
